Meet Amanda

I work with clients in all stages of life, from those experiencing short-term difficulty to those who are working with lifelong challenges. I am a teacher-turned-counselor that uses cognitive based modalities and a client centered style. My goal for my clients is for them to feel better equipped with a full toolbelt to help navigate life’s challenges.

Experiences from growing up in a small town in the Panhandle in a single parent home led me to the counseling field, hoping to provide students someone who could relate to their experiences and lend a non-judgmental ear to listen. I have spent 25 years working in the public education system. Not only have I taught elementary school and high school, but I have counseled all age groups. After the pandemic, I felt led to expand my scope and went back to school while juggling a career, my family and community responsibilities. I obtained my LPC license to be able to help a broader range of difficulties and helping those in need, and not be limited to helping in just a school setting.

I may not have all of the answers, but I have learned how to look for them through the varied paths that have led me where I am today. If any of this resonates with you, please give me a call, text, or send an email and let’s get together! I would love to have the opportunity to hear your story and help you put your answers together.
